PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh gave its depleted backcourt a boost on Tuesday, adding junior college transfer Jonathan Milligan.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound Milligan averaged 14.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game last season for Kilgore (Texas) College. Milligan, who has two years of eligibility remaining, shot 40 percent from 3-point range. Milligan began his high school career at Casa Grande High School in Arizona, averaging a league-high 24.2 points and 8.0 assists per game as a senior. He also spent one prep season at Mount Zion Christian Academy in North Carolina before enrolling at Kilgore.

Pitt is in need of bodies in the backcourt after swingman Durand Johnson left for St. John's and guard Josh Newkirk transferred to Indiana.
