LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Kansas has added North Carolina transfer guard Jessica Washington.
Washington spent two seasons with the Tar Heels. She will sit out next season and have two years of eligibility remaining. Coach Brandon Schneider said in a statement that Washington "is a floor general with great vision and a high basketball I.Q."
Washington averaged 7.3 points and 2.4 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game as a sophomore. She announced in May she was leaving in pursuit of more playing time in what UNC called a mutual decision.
Washington was a McDonald's All-American and part of UNC's four-player recruiting class ranked No. 1 nationally in 2013, a class that has dissolved in two seasons.
