CHENEY, Wash. (AP) — Venky Jois scored 27 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and Eastern Washington routed Montana State 92-68 on Thursday night for its Division I school record 21st win.
Eastern Washington (21-7, 12-3 Big Sky) pulled even with Sacramento State (18-8, 12-3) for the top spot in the conference, and leads Montana (16-11, 12-4) by a half-game. The Eagles, who are 13-1 at home, face the visiting Grizzlies on Saturday. Sacramento State has three road games remaining.
Tyler Harvey scored 20 points and Drew Brandon grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out six assists for Eastern Washington. The Eagles led 37-28 at the break, had a 10-point lead one minute into the second half, and used a 19-5 run to stretch it to 67-41 with 11:41 remaining and cruised from there.
Marcus Colbert scored 25 of his 27 points in the second half to lead Montana State (7-21, 4-12 Big Sky).
