MIAMI (AP) — San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey left Wednesday's game against the Marlins as a precaution after taking a foul ball off his mask, and said he avoided serious injury.

Posey said a foul tip jarred his chin in the fourth inning. He exited in the sixth and passed a concussion test.

"I feel good," he said. "I just got my bell rung. I've felt it before, no headache or dizziness or anything. I just felt a little bit off."

Posey said he'll be reevaluated but hopes to play Thursday.

Posey was replaced by Andrew Susac, the only other catcher on the roster. The Giants lost 6-5.
