JERUSALEM (AP) — The latest developments in ongoing tensions between Palestinians and Israelis following days of violence in Jerusalem and the West Bank (all times local).

11:30 p.m.
The Palestinian United Nations ambassador says representatives of several major U.N. groups met a senior U.N. official to convey their "outrage" at recent Israeli attacks against Palestinians.
Riyad Mansour said after Thursday's meeting with U.N. political chief Jeffrey Feltman that the Palestinians are facing "massive military force with their bare chest and with stones."
He said Israel is "chasing children and shooting them from the back," which isn't the conduct "of a moral army."
"This is the conduct of an occupying army that should be tainted with all of these shames," Mansour said.
The group met Feltman because Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is traveling.
Mansour said Ban's office "is receptive to use his good offices to call on Israel to stop this escalation and to stop these attacks against the Palestinian people."

9:20 p.m.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to calm Israelis following a wave of attacks by Palestinians.
In a press conference Thursday with top defense officials, he praised soldiers and civilians who have acted to stop attackers in recent days. He says Israel will overcome the spike in violence and pursue the perpetrators.
Netanyahu also listed a number of steps Israel has taken in a bid to contain the violence, including the demolition of attackers' homes and tougher punishment for Palestinian stone throwers.
Netanyahu blames the violence on incitement from Palestinian officials over a Jerusalem site holy to both Jews and Muslims.

7:45 p.m.
Israeli police say a soldier has been stabbed in an attack in northern Israel.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says the soldier was moderately wounded in the attack. Rosenfeld said the assailant was apprehended at the scene and was being questioned. He said the attacker was an Arab without providing more details.
The attack in the northern city of Afula on Thursday comes as violence between Israelis and Palestinians is spreading beyond Jerusalem and the West Bank. Earlier, a Palestinian stabbed four Israelis with a screwdriver in Tel Aviv.

6:50 p.m.
A Palestinian has died from gunshot wounds sustained during clashes with Israeli security forces in Jerusalem.
Ahmad Bitawi, the director of Ramallah hospital in the West Bank, says Wissam Jamal, 20, arrived at the hospital with a bullet wound to the chest.
Witnesses in the Shuafat refugee camp in Jerusalem say clashes broke out Thursday between Palestinian protesters and Israeli forces.
Israeli police spokeswoman Luba Samri says the forces had gone to search the home of a Palestinian involved in an earlier attack.
She says they were confronted by thousands of rioters who hurled stones and firebombs at them. She says troops opened fire toward the protesters' lower bodies.

4:10 p.m.
Israeli authorities say a Palestinian attacker stabbed an Israeli man in the West Bank, wounding him seriously before fleeing.
Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said forces were searching the area near the Jewish West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba for the attacker. Samri says the Israeli man was stabbed in the stomach and was evacuated to a hospital.
The attack was the third stabbing against Israelis on Thursday, part a wave of violence between Israelis and Palestinians in recent weeks.
Four Israelis have been killed in stabbings by Palestinian attackers and a roadside shooting in recent days. Six Palestinians, including four of the attackers, have been killed, including one on Thursday.

Israeli police says a soldier shot and killed an Arab attacker after he stabbed four people with a screwdriver in Tel Aviv.
Police spokeswoman Luba Samri says a female soldier was among the wounded, all of them lightly injured.
She said the soldier chased the assailant after Thursday's attack which occurred along a busy Tel Aviv road. Police closed off the intersection where the attack took place.
The attack is the latest in a bout of violence that began three weeks ago and has spilled over into Israel's heartland.

The U.N. human rights chief is calling for calm in the West Bank after a week of spiraling tension, warning that "more bloodshed will only lead to more hatred on both sides."
Zeid Raad al-Hussein said in a statement issued in Geneva on Thursday that he is "deeply concerned at the increasing number of reported attacks" by both Israeli settlers and Palestinians.
He voiced concern at reports that at least 134 Palestinians have been injured by live ammunition and many more hurt by rubber bullets or tear gas. Zeid says "the high number of casualties, in particular those resulting from the use of live ammunition by Israeli security forces, raise concerns of excessive use of force."

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says the Palestinians will not be "dragged" into more violence with Israel, even as a Palestinian attacker stabbed a Jewish seminary student in Jerusalem.
Abbas spoke to business leaders on Thursday in the West Bank city of Ramallah. He says he is committed to "peaceful popular resistance" though he backs protesters who recently barricaded themselves inside Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque and clashed with Israeli police.
Abbas insisted the Palestinians are not interested in a further escalation.
Still, he says their "hands are with those who are protecting Al-Aqsa mosque."
The sensitive site in Jerusalem has been at the heart of the recent Israeli-Palestinian unrest. Palestinians have repeatedly barricaded themselves inside the Al-Aqsa mosque there, and hurled stones, firebombs and fireworks at the police.

Israeli police say an attacker has stabbed an Israeli in Jerusalem. They identified the attacker as an Arab man without providing details.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says Thursday's attack took place in the French Hill neighborhood of Jerusalem and that troops have apprehended the attacker. Medical services say the victim was lightly wounded.
The stabbing was the latest in a series of attacks against Israelis in recent years.
The unrest began about three weeks ago at a sensitive holy site in Jerusalem. It later spread to Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem and to the West Bank.
In all, four Israelis have been killed in stabbings by Palestinian attackers and a roadside shooting in recent days. Five Palestinians, including three of the attackers, have been killed.
