SAN DIEGO (AP) — Miramar College in San Diego has ended its firearms classes that they had offered to the general public amid an investigation into an instructor who brought a gun to a meeting.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1UoAMVl ) that the instructor Jordan Omens was placed briefly on leave after administrators say he brandished a gun during a meeting in October 2014. Omens is now suing the school over the discipline he received saying they were false pretenses.
During the investigation into Omens, school administrators found two firearms were missing. Administrators have since removed all firearms from the campus.
Omens was cleared to return to work after the incident.
