LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police say both a motorcyclist and a pedestrian have died after the two collided at an intersection.

Police say the deadly collision happened just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Eastern and Canosa avenues.

According to witnesses and evidence gathered at the scene, 23-year-old David Ivan Ramey was riding his Suzuki motorcycle southbound as a 40-year-old man was crossing the street.

Police say the motorcycle struck the man. They did not indicate whether the pedestrian was within a crosswalk.

The impact caused both of them to be thrown onto the road surface and suffer fatal injuries.

Police did not release the pedestrian's name.

The incident remains under investigation.

The two deaths bring the total number of traffic-related fatalities in Las Vegas this year to 59.
