ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AP) — Six people, including three children, had to be rescued from a roller coaster in Ohio after a power outage left them stuck.

The riders were on the Pepsi Python coaster at in Anderson Township's Coney Island Amusement Park on Sunday when the power went out around 6:30 p.m.

Emily Adkins, the mother of one of the children, tells WXIX-TV (http://bit.ly/1IYn890 ) that they were stuck on the roller coaster for over 20 minutes.

Firefighters used ladders to rescue the riders, and the amusement park closed early due to the outage.

Cincinnati.com (http://cin.ci/1BkPHqK ) reports two of the youngest riders were the last to be taken down. They say they were "scared, a little nervous" but agree that being saved by the firefighters was "awesome."

Duke Energy says more than 13,000 customers also lost power.
