LAS VEGAS (AP) — Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump says Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl should have been executed for leaving his post in Afghanistan. Trump made the comments yesterday afternoon at a rowdy rally inside a packed Las Vegas theater at the casino-hotel Treasure Island. Trump says Bergdahl is a "no-good traitor" and would have been shot 30 years ago.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The new director of the Idaho National Laboratory says he sees plenty of opportunity to make it the nation's premier energy security lab while also bolstering the region's economy. Mark Peters says the nation's energy security involves the U.S. being able to produce its own energy in a system protected from attacks, including cyber threats.

CHESTER, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has captured and euthanized a 13-year-old grizzly bear habituated to human-related food after catching it and her two yearling cubs in a trap near the town of Chester. State and federal officials are evaluating whether the cubs can survive on their own if released back into the wild.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Pari-Mutuel Commission has declined to lift its suspension of historic horse racing terminals throughout the state. The commission is still banning the use of the machines at bars and off-track betting sites. Neighboring Idaho this year banned similar machines in that state because of concerns that they resembled slot machines.
