WASHINGTON (AP) — In a story March 31, due to an editing error, The Associated Press reported that Gov. Chris Christie privatized New Jersey's lottery two years ago. Under the 15-year contract with Northstar New Jersey Lottery Group, the private company runs the majority of the lottery's operations, including ticket sales and marketing. A few functions, such as public relations, remain with the state, which oversees Northstar via a lottery commission whose members serve at the governor's discretion.
