LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The International Boxing Association says Cuba earned five places in the 2016 Olympics men's draw through its World Series of Boxing.

AIBA says of 17 Olympic entries allocated from the WSB regular season, Russian boxers earned three, and Ireland got two.

Singles entries in the Rio de Janeiro Games were won by: Azerbaijan, Croatia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Morocco, and Puerto Rico.

Individual boxers earning those entries could lose Olympic selection if a teammate also earns a place through the world championships in October in Doha, Qatar.

AIBA previously awarded Rio Olympics entries through its Pro Boxing series.

Further entries are offered at continental and world qualifying tournaments.

Cuba sent eight male boxers to the 2012 London Olympics, winning two gold and two bronze medals.
