LONDON (AP) — Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has had more surgery on his left ankle, delaying his comeback after three months out because of injury.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Wilshere underwent the operation that was planned for the end of the season because his ankle was causing him discomfort, adding it was a "minor procedure."

Wilshere had recently returned to the squad after ankle surgery following an injury against Manchester United on Nov. 22.

Wilshere will miss Sunday's Premier League match against Everton but Wenger expects the England international's absence to be short.
