SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Boban Marjanovic of the San Antonio Spurs will not play for Serbia in the EuroBasket tournament this summer because of a left ankle injury.

The 7-foot-3 Marjanovic signed with the Spurs last month. The Spurs say tests, including an MRI, show he has "significant bony edema" that "compromises Marjanovic's ability to play basketball without compromising long-term health and future injury."

Marjanovic is a three-time MVP of the Serbian Super League. He averaged nearly 17 points and 11 rebounds per game in his most recent season playing for Crvena Zvezda.

The 26-year-old Marjanovic has been a pro since 2006.
