NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Pelicans point guard Jrue Holiday has returned to the lineup for Game 3 of New Orleans' first-round playoff series against Golden State on Thursday night.
Holiday played in the series opener last Saturday, but sat out Game 2 on Monday night as the club seeks to avoid over-working him as he continues to come back from a lower right leg injury that had sidelined him for three months.
Holiday, who averaged 14.8 points and 6.9 assists during 40 regular season games, played 21 minutes in Game 1 against Golden State and had five points and five assists.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr says forward David Lee, who has been ruled out for Game 3 after missing the series' first two games, is "doing better" and is expected to practice on Friday.
