DALLAS (AP) — Tyson Chandler and Chandler Parsons will miss Monday night's game against New Orleans because of injuries, leaving the Mavericks without two of their frontcourt starters for the second straight game.

Chandler has a bruised left hip that kept him out of Saturday's loss to Brooklyn, and Parsons will miss his fifth straight game after spraining his left ankle in a win over Houston.

Coach Rick Carlisle said Monday he was optimistic both could return when Dallas plays three games in four nights on the West Coast starting with Portland on Thursday night.

The 7-1 Chandler leads the Mavericks with 25 double-doubles and is an important defensive presence around the basket. Parsons is averaging 15.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
