WAHPETON, N.D. (AP) — Officials at the State College of Science are exploring new options for underused campus residence halls after a deal with Lutheran Social Services fell through.

The Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1KkGNQY ) that the Wahpeton school had been in discussions with LSS representatives about turning three dorms into senior housing. The partnership had the support of the City Council and the state Board of Higher Education, but Lutheran Social Services ran into problems with financing.

College President John Richman says it's disappointing to lose three years of potential development.
