ÉIRE — Unless you were living under a rock at the turn of the millenium, you are more than aware of Michael Flatley and his rise to fame with over-the-top productions centered around traditional Irish step dancing.

The self-proclaimed Lord of the Dance leapt and heaved while shirtless and surrounded by dozens of in-sync dancers, and the world ate it up beginning in 1996.

Indeed, you know something is an inescapable phenomenon when it gets a whole bit on an awards show, as SNL alum Mike Myers did at the 1997 MTV Music Awards. And if you’re a Disneyland aficionado, you have probably seen Billy Hill and the Hillbillies perform their version, called Puddle Prance, in their show at The Golden Horseshoe in Frontierland up until the day they retired last year.

Adding to the homage via spoof tradition, YouTube user Sébastien Hamel filmed his daughter Kali tooling around in her Jolly Jumper (or a Johnny Jump Up, if you were in my family). He then edited the video into a clever, 24-second video that dethrones Flatly and installs a new ruler, “Kali of the Dance.”

It’s pure and delightful hilarity. Enjoy!
