WASHINGTON (AP) — Students at The Catholic University of America are preparing for what will be a memorable fall semester — thanks to an upcoming visit from Pope Francis.

The university will hold its Mass of the Holy Spirit on Thursday. The Mass serves as the official start of the academic year at Catholic University. Cardinal Donald Wuerl, archbishop of Washington and chancellor of the university, will be the celebrant.

Students will be encouraged to pray and serve the community in preparation for the pope's visit. Pope Francis is scheduled to arrive in Washington on Sept. 22 and depart on Sept. 24.
