SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A 15-year-old girl and her alleged kidnapper have been found near Denver, Sandy Police Department officials said Monday.
Jefferson County deputies saw Christopher Speaks' truck 4 a.m. Monday, and watched the empty vehicle until daylight, when they and the FBI searched the area. They found Speaks and Crystal Leslie around noon, and both appeared to be in a good condition, the police department said in a statement.
Leslie disappeared July 18 from her summer school classes at Valley High School in Sandy. Prosecutors allege that she was taken by Speaks, 38, a former neighbor.
Prosecutors have charged Speaks with kidnapping and set his bail at $50,000.
