(KSL News) -- A man riding a motorcycle was killed tonight in Big Cottonwood Canyon after running head on into another vehicle.
Investigators say the 20-year old was heading down the canyon and, for some reason, crossed the center line. That's when he clipped a car and hit a pick-up truck head-on. He was not wearing a helmet.
The canyon was closed for over an hour while crews cleaned up the accident.
Another accident, this one at 39th South and 11th East sent three people to the hospital this evening.
Investigators say a green van was heading east bound on 3900 south, and the white jeep was northbound on 1100 east. One of the vehicles ran a red-light causing the collision.
The jeep rolled several times and ejected an unrestrained passenger. She and the driver were taken to the hospital in serious condition. The driver of the van was taken to the hospital in fair condition.
Investigators say alcohol may have been involved.
