(Provo-AP) -- Warmer weather is melting the snow in Aspen Grove and that may be good news for searchers looking for two snowboarders lost last December.
Utah County Sheriff's spokesman Dennis Harris says the snow is slowly receding and search teams are anxious to find 18-year-old Adam Merz and 20-year-old Rod Newberry.
The two snowboarders along with 19-year-old Mike Hebert were killed in an avalanche December 26 as they were climbing the chute. Hebert's body was found two days later, but there's been no sign of Merz and Newberry.
Harris says small search teams have routinely been looking for the pair using search dogs and probe poles. He says even though the weather's getting warmer and the snow's melting, they still don't know how deep the men were buried.
