(KSL News) -- Some people in Layton were surprised to find dirty water coming from their taps today.
Layton City public works says yesterday's storm knocked out power at a substation, and the city was unable to get water to an area water tank.
Public works called the Weber Basin water district to provide water for the area, but during the conversion, the water stirred up sediment in the pipes.
Officials say the water is safe to drink and the sediment can be flushed out by running an outside spigot.
