(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Prosecutors have charged two teenagers in a shooting at Salt Lake City's Liberty Park.

A 14-year-old who allegedly shot an 18-year-old in the back with a Nine Millimeter is charged with three counts of discharging a firearm. So is a 17-year-old who allegedly provided the gun.

Police believed the shooting was gang-related because of clothing worn by the alleged shooter and his friends, and hand signals "flashed" before the gunfire.

The shooting victim was treated and released.

Prosecutors say each count carries a minimum of three years in prison in adult court. However, they say they haven't yet determined whether the cases would be handled in juvenile or adult court.
