April Feller, chief financial officer of NLU Products, was raised in an entrepreneurial family. Her father owns and operates the successful Hyde Drift Boats in Idaho Falls. April was 14 when she started doing the bookkeeping for the business. It is not surprising that years later, she and her husband, Kirk, exhibited that same entrepreneurial drive to start and grow an exciting company, NLU Products.

The Fellers founded NLU Products in 2002. Located in Bluffdale, NLU has grown from a small home office operation to an organization that supplies protection products to mobile device users worldwide. It took about two years to establish the business, and in 2004, the growing company moved from April and Kirk's home to a new office and building. Growth has come quickly enough that the company has moved five times to accommodate it.

NLU Products started with a small line of screen protectors for a limited number of PDAs and other hand-held devices. Its product selection has expanded to include protection products for hundreds of devices including cell phones, PDAs, media players, gaming systems, cameras, GPS equipment, and many others. I was told that three to five new devices are added to the company's inventory each week.

While I was visiting, I took the opportunity to have a BodyGuardz protective cover placed on my iPhone. It was quick, and I'm pleased with the protection the attractive cover provides. I learned that NLU Products has three main brands: Screen Guardz, Body Guardz and Tat Skinz. I also saw the many art designs and clever options for covers specifically designed for iPods and iPhones.

Orders flow in from the company's Web site and also from resellers and distributors nationally and internationally. April Feller's dad is mighty proud that his daughter is leading one of the fastest-growing woman-owned businesses in Utah.
