And that's just the beginning. When everything settled down, two suspects were arrested and accused of two shootings, two carjackings, and plenty of other violations.

It started in West Valley when an officer noticed a suspicious car. He ran the license plate and it came back stolen. When he tried to pull the car over, the driver took off through Redwood Road, Highway 201, I-15, and into Salt Lake City.

Capt. T. McLachlan/ West Valley Police Dept.: "The driver of the stolen vehicle leaned out of his vehicle and fired multiple shots at our pursuing car."

The officer wasn't hit, but his car was. The two suspects then abandoned their car, jumped the fence to I-15, and tried to carjack a woman driving southbound.

Capt. T. McLachlan/ West Valley Police Dept.: "The driver of the car, a lady, refused to relinquish control of that vehicle. The male suspect opened fire on her, shooting into the vehicle."

She was hit four times, but was able to drive away.
