WEST WENDOVER, Nev. (AP) -- Three West Wendover, Nevada, men have been arrested and charged in the alleged rape of a 16-year-old Utah girl. And police say additional arrests are expected.
West Wendover Police Chief Ron Supp identified the men as 22-year-old Gabriel Palafox, 19-year-old Luis Alberto Escobedo and 20-year-old Salvador Vera.
Each has been charged with sexual assault, kidnapping and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Each is being held in lieu of 110-thousand-dollars bail.
Supp says the suspects allegedly gave her alcohol before the alleged attack early Wednesday about three miles west of West Wendover. The assault was reported to police at about three a-m.
Officers aren't sure how the suspects met the girl, who was visiting family in West Wendover. She was treated for injuries and released from a Salt Lake City hospital.
