OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Cities and counties statewide have to repay the Utah Department of Transportation 15.7 (M)million dollars they received through an accounting error.

UDOT over-allocated the money in class B and C road funds in fiscal 2004.

The over-allocations ranged from one-thousand dollars for Castle Valley to nearly 911 thousand dollars for Salt Lake County.

Bountiful City Manager Tom Hardy said losing 196-thousand dollars forced a delay in the rebuilding of 200 West from 400 North to 1600 North.

Box Elder County Commissioner Scott Hansen said the state is going to have to show him where that 233 thousand dollars is that they overpaid the county.

He said paying it back would just about shut them down for the rest of the year.
