SALT LAKE CITY -- Prosecutors have dismissed felony charges against a driver involved in a fatal auto-pedestrian crash.
Babatunde Idowu was driving along 3500 South in West Valley in May when his car left the road, hitting and killing 75-year-old Kenneth Christensen, who was waiting in his wheelchair at a bus stop.
Based on observations, an officer told prosecutors Idowu was driving under the influence, and they filed an automobile homicide charge. But several blood tests came back negative.
Idowu now has been released after spending the last three months in jail. He still faces misdemeanor charges for the crash.
