NEW YORK, Dec 21, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The U.S. non-profit group Mothers Against Drunk Driving, said Thursday it would not be using Miss Teen USA to raise awareness on underage drinking

MADD officials said in a release that they were "disappointed to hear news reports of Miss Teen USA Katie Blair illegally drinking underage."

Media reports said that Blair, 18, had been spotted drinking alcohol with Miss USA, Tara Conner, who recently turned 21, in New York City clubs and bars, along with other questionable behavior.

Donald Trump, who owns the Miss Universe Organization, which includes Miss Teen USA and Miss USA, had said Tuesday that Conner could keep her title if she would enter a rehab facility and mind her manners in public.

Nevertheless, Heidi Castle, spokeswoman for MADD said: "In the past, MADD has teamed with Miss Teen USA to raise awareness about the serious and often deadly consequences of underage drinking. However, we do not feel, at this time, that Ms. Blair can be an effective spokesperson on underage drinking and will not ask her to represent MADD."
