This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
Jodie McAllister, optician and owner of East Millcreek Eyewear, has a long history in the optical business. She had her first eye exam and pair of glasses at the age of 10. Although fascinated with the whole process, she was not excited to be wearing glasses. Back in those days, wearing glasses was not only not cool but very unattractive. And the selection was less than desirable.
At the age of 18, Jodie decided to work for a small optical chain in the Chicago area, where she grew up. She started her training in 1973, right out of high school, and has been passionate about the industry ever since. That passion has continued through her work with optometric professionals from Washington, D.C. to California.
In 1984, Jodie returned to her birthplace in Utah. Although Utah doesn't require opticians to be nationally certified, Jodie still chose to seek her certification and attained it in 1989. Despite her success in the optical field, Jodie's dream has always been to own an optical boutique of her own. With encouragement from her family, Jodie purchased a quaint little house in the East Millcreek area in 2006 and converted it into a full-service optical shop, complete with an optometrist.
Jodie tells me her motto is "Fashion for your Face", and you can be sure to find it in her shop, East Millcreek Eyewear. Jodie loves to take the extra time to help even the most discriminating client find the "special" frame they're looking for. She encourages potential clients not be fooled by the boutique look of her shop; she carries frames that range from the very conservative budget on up.
What distinguishes East Millcreek Eyewear is Jodie's many years of experience and her personalized attention to each customer. Her children, J-C, Melisa and Landon are all part employed at the shop, comprising Jodie's dream team. She invites anyone to stop by and check out her latest, greatest eyewear and enjoy a fresh-baked cookie.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
