Alex Cabrero ReportingPolice in Northern Utah are looking for a man they believe tried to abduct a 13 year old girl. Investigators in Willard have been working on some leads, but there are still no arrests.

All day long customers are in and out of Ross' Barbershop in Willard. It was the same today, except the conversation all centered on one thing.

Don Ross, Willard Resident: "I don't think you expect it in any little town, but it happens."

It seems everyone is talking about the 13-year old girl and how she was almost kidnapped Wednesday afternoon.

Don Ross: "I don't know understand myself what possesses these people, and especially to abduct children. I just don't understand it."

Neither do police.

Jim Summerill, Chief, Willard Police Dept.: "He grabbed her and made some initial threats to her that she needed to come with him."

They started walking down Center Street when the girl realized something just didn't seem right.

Jim Summerill: "At one point she decided she was gonna fight."

Police say the girl did the right thing by kicking and screaming. She made enough of a scene that her attacker finally gave up.

Jim Summerill: "Thank heavens she finally got away from him."

Today, all the schools in Box Elder School District got an email from their superintendent, saying to be careful and aware when students are outside.

Martell Menlove, Superintendent, Box Elder School District: "Definitely you have some concerns that this is happening with our students and in our community."

Willard is still a safe place, only now residents are more aware of who's around them.

The girl's attacker is described as a white male between 20 and 30 years old. He's about five foot six inches tall and 180 pounds. He has brown hair and was clean shaven. Police know that's not a lot to go on, but right now it's all the information they have.
