(KSL News) A day of fun in the snow turned tragic as three young women were injured while sledding in Sandy. It happened at Flat Iron Mesa Park this afternoon.

The 20-year-old, 19-year-old and 18-year-old women were injured while sledding on the same tube. When they reached the bottom of the hill, they flew up in the air and came down hard on the ground.

One woman was flown to the hospital with head injuries. She is listed in critical condition.

The other two women sustained serious injuries and were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

We have a crew on the way and will have more information as it becomes available. Tune into Eyewitness News at 6, KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM/1160 AM and KSL.com for the latest details.
