SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police continued to negotiate Friday night with a man they said had fired upon them while he was barricaded inside a home near 900 South and 1900 East in Salt Lake.
A shelter-in-place remains in effect for homes within a half-mile radius of the area.

The situation began as a service call about a man who was reportedly making threats, police said via X.
Glen Mills, Salt Lake City Police chief of staff, said they believe the suspect is the only one currently in the house.
