NORTH OGDEN — A 73-year-old woman died after she was struck by a vehicle Saturday evening in North Ogden, police said.

The woman was hit shortly after 7 p.m. near 1700 North and 400 East, according to North Ogden Police Sgt. Anthony Bersamin.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries, Bersamin said.

On Monday, North Ogden police said the woman was wheelchair-bound, and she was struck within a crosswalk.

The driver who hit the woman was a minor, a boy, who stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.

Although the incident remains under investigation, police said speed and impairment were not considered as factors in relation to the crash.

The name of the woman who died has yet to be released.
