Twas the day before Christmas and all through the station
Several creatures were stirring in anticipation
The reporters and producers were plying their trade
Hoping that soon good news would be made
The chocolate was stocked by the news desk to share
The stories assigned to reporters with care
And Sheryl in her red shirt and Tom in his cap
Had just settled in for the Christmas story gap
When out in the newsroom there arose such a clatter
I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter
Away to the TV side I made a mad dash
Threw open my flip-phone and turned on the flash
The lights of the studio started to glow
Shining light spotlights on the visitor below
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a man in a red suit, pink cheeks and a beard
His laughter and sack gave me so little doubt
"It's Santa!" I couldn't help but to shout
My phone at the ready, we all gathered round
Each taking a turn at his side for the sound
The sound of the flash as we all got a pic
To put in our facebooks with dear Old St. Nick
He whistled and shouted and called us by name
"Get a shot of each person or it will be a shame!"
With a jingling of bells and a deep "ho ho ho"
Santa kissed Tom on the cheek and he started to go
But what visit from Santa could e'er be complete
Without heading to the studio, Doug Wright to meet?
He answered the phone calls from all of the kids
Hugged Rikki and Andrew and Zak on the skids
Then called as he left through the revolving door
"Merry Christmas to all. And many happy more!"
