THE CARNIVAL — There's nothing quite like a carnival. The food, the games, the lights, the crowds. No matter what you like, there's probably something at the carnival to scratch that itch. There are also probably some things at the carnival that will give you an actual itch, but that's another story.

Of course, the highlight of the carnival is the rides. These rickety contraptions give you the chance to soar through the sky on something that was rambling down the freeway only days earlier.

As much as I love the carnival rides in the United States, it looks as though the rides at this carnival in Sri Lanka are even more amazing.

What makes this Ferris wheel so unique? There's no motor. It's just a group of guys walking in the middle that powers the whole thing. And they also dangle from the bars from time to time, just to keep things interesting.

Pretty cool. Maybe Steel Days, the Washington County Fair, or the Farmington Festival Days carnival could get one of these human-powered Ferris wheels next year.
