SPANISH FORK — Police identified the man who was killed in a crash in Spanish Fork Canyon earlier this month.

Limbert De La Cruz Acosta, 29, of Ephraim, died on Dec. 14 after he was thrown from a car in a crash near Diamond Fork Road along U.S. 6.

Police said an eastbound Kia Soul lost control, striking a westbound vehicle. The Kia Soul was then struck head-on by an oncoming Kia Telluride, where Acosta was a back seat passenger.

Cruz was not wearing a seat belt, police said, and he was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Several occupants in all three vehicles sustained minor injuries.
