SALT LAKE CITY — As the NCAA opened up its early signing period for football on Wednesday, Utah had little drama.
Though four-star running back Raycine Guillory added some entertainment late Wednesday when he announced his commitment to the Utes, beating out several Power Four offers, including Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Ole Miss and Texas, among others.
Utah assembled most of its 2025 recruiting class in the summer ahead of the 2024 season, and a majority of the pledged commits stayed true and signed with the Utes on Wednesday. In total, Utah has signed 21 players so far, with the expectation to add a few more before all is said and done.
In a last-ditch push, Utah got some late commits starting Monday, culminating in a signing day commitment from Hawaiian defensive end Pupualii Sepulona, who was expected to sign with Boise State before announcing his decision to come to Utah.
The bulk of the signing class — at least 12 players — come from the defensive side of the ball, where Utah will look to replace a bevy of talent expected to pursue the NFL draft. On defense, Utah added five defensive backs, four defensive linemen, two linebackers and one defensive end.
Though the recruiting class isn't ranked as high as in year's past in terms of national rankings, Utah secured two additional four-star consensus commits, according to 247Sports' Composite rankings — including linebackers Christian Thatcher and Desert Hills' Cyrus Polu — with other athletes receiving four-star rankings from various recruiting services.
Other athletes receiving at least one four-star ranking include: JJ Buchanan (247Sports), Wyatt Becker (ESPN), Jason Stokes Jr. (On3), Manny Fuller (On3), Nathan Tilmon (On3), Soren Shinofield (On3), Karson Kaufusi (Rivals).
Utah also signed six-star place-kicker and five-star punter Dillon Curtis (Murray High), who is the No. 1 kicker in the United States, according to Chris Sailer.
The majority of the 2025 recruiting class hails from Texas, where six athletes signed. Utah continued to pull recruits from California (4), while maintaining a foothold in Utah (4), Nevada (4) and Hawaii (3).
