"The fat always comes back," says Dr. Whit Roberts of Health Utah. "Unless you do one very important thing. It doesn't seem to matter how you lose the weight. Lose weight with shots, fad diets, cleanses, keto, you name it–the fat comes back. Now we know why."

A brand new study from ETH Zurich found that fat cells have memory, according to a Nov. 18 article in Science Daily. The research showed you can lose the weight but a memory of your former weight is stored in the nucleus of fat cells exerting influence on your metabolism and driving weight gain.

Roberts has been working with overweight and obese patients for 30 years. He has seen a history of this pattern of yo-yo dieting with nearly every patient. They lose weight by counting calories, cutting out whole categories of food or some other fad diet. They may even keep the weight off for a while but then it inevitably returns. Then they start the yo-yo spinning again. It's incredibly frustrating as many readers can attest.

How is the memory stored?

The memory of your fatter self is stored as small chemical markers that sit on your DNA and tell it when to be active and when to be silent. These markers are very powerful. They basically tell the cells how to behave.

"The markers attach to our DNA over time in response to environmental factors, lifestyle and diet," Roberts explains. "This means that even if you cut out sodas and fast food, you may be paying for your previous bad food choices for a long time to come."

Can the memory be erased?

At this time there is no known way to erase the memory of the fat cells quickly. No drug appears to have the ability to remove these chemical markers. The markers can potentially remain in place throughout the life of the cell. The problem with that is that fat cells live for a very long time. The average fat cell lives for 10 years before it is replaced with a new one.

The solution

Roberts says, "The markers can be replaced over time if you significantly change the environment, your lifestyle and your diet over a long enough period. This is the one thing that will stop the yo-yo dieting. Sadly, most people don't do this. They hope the newest diet is somehow going to change the pattern and they'll be able to diet for a few months and have lasting results."

There is still a lot of research to be done regarding how quickly these memory markers can be replaced. "Several factors are probably involved. Genetics, how drastically you change things, and how strictly you change them likely affect the rate of change," Roberts says.

He reports, "One solution is to never diet. Dieting by definition is to restrict calories or certain foods for a period of time."

This is the opposite of the program at Health Utah. At Health Utah, there's no dieting, no cutting out whole categories of food, no counting calories, macros or points. You don't have to eat all fat or all meat or eat according to some other severely restrictive plan.

"Your food plan has to be something that you can easily do for the rest of your life," Roberts explains. "It has to be something you enjoy and it has to have some flexibility. Virtually everyone who does our program tells us this is the easiest thing they've ever done. It has to be if it is ever going to be sustainable."

Therapeutic solutions at Health Utah

To facilitate a faster replacement of old memory patterns with healthy ones, Health Utah utilizes advanced in-office therapies. For example, research shows both temperature and light can trigger enzymes to modify these memory markers. Health Utah employs powerful light and heat therapies in its health and weight loss programs.

Hypnotherapy and guided visualization, another of Health Utah's therapies, has also been shown to alter these memory markers and gene expression, according to other research. "This is perhaps our patient's favorite part of the program," Roberts says. "It's incredibly relaxing and helps to reframe your relationship with food."

In a systematic review of the scientific literature regarding these memory molecules, the scientific journal, Clinical Epigenetics, reports that herbs have a strong capacity to regulate these markers and thus the occurrence and progression of chronic diseases. At Health Utah, 30 years of clinical evidence supports this idea. Herbs are expertly used to bring body systems, hormones, blood sugars, brain chemistries and much more back into a healthy balance which promotes both healing and weight loss.

This article touches on just a few of the powerful therapeutics and dietary changes that Health Utah uses in its health and weight loss programs. Before prescribing the exact combination of therapies, Roberts will perform an extensive screening on most body systems, conduct a thorough review of your health history, and analyze the results of a proprietary health survey you complete.

The offer

It all starts with the proprietary survey. It's free and provides valuable information even if you never do anything more with Health Utah or Roberts. If you choose to continue with the body scan and screening, Roberts will review those findings which will inform his review of your history and evaluation of your health status.

Taking advantage of all of this will give you tremendous insight into the underlying conditions affecting your health and weight. You will leave with a 17-page report. You will be armed with knowledge and direction. All of this is surprisingly just $59. In fact, they encourage you to bring a spouse, other family member or friend with you and both of you will get all of this for just $59. It's sort of like a medical 2-for-1 special.

You can call (801) 609-3478 or visit Health Utah today to schedule your appointment or just take the survey by clicking here.
