SPRINGVILLE — A bicyclist was injured and later died after being hit by a vehicle early Wednesday while on his way to work, police say.

Kevin Joseph Done, 61, of Orem, was riding his bike near 815 W. Raymond Klauck Way just before 1:30 a.m. when he was hit by a car and knocked unconscious, Springville police said. Done was taken to the hospital but died of his injuries after arriving.

Police said the 18-year-old woman driving the car that hit Done told officers she was drowsy and had fallen asleep, causing her to veer out of her lane and hit the bicyclist. She immediately stopped and called 911.

The woman was checked for impairment, and police said it appeared she was not impaired.

The Utah County Attorney's Office is screening possible charges of negligent homicide and driving without a valid driver's license.
