SALT LAKE CITY — Corner Canyon was the talk of the state last week after pulling off a historic win over a national program.
But the Chargers weren't the only team to make an early-season statement; Lone Peak, Lehi, Orem, Mountain Ridge, and plenty more have impressed out of the gate.
Here's how we rank the state after Week 2.
1. Corner Canyon (2-0)
If there was any remaining doubt that Corner Canyon was this season's 6A favorite (and there probably wasn't), there certainly isn't now.
The Chargers pulled off one of the biggest wins in Utah prep football history when it stormed back in the second half to beat IMG Academy (Fla.) 35-34 on Thursday. IMG, the perennial national contender, was ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation, according to MaxPreps, coming into the game.
Junior QB Helaman Casuga threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns, and senior wideout Jerome Myles had five catches for 125 yards in the win.
2. Lone Peak (2-0)
Lone Peak is off and running. The Knights followed up an impressive Week 1 win over Bingham with a 31-24 victory over defending 5A champion Timpview on Friday.
Junior receiver Jasean Mayberry had seven catches for 84 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown in the third quarter that put Lone Peak up for good.
3. Lehi (2-0)
Quarterback Jett Niu and receiver Mays Madsen connected for three touchdowns — including a 50-yard strike — as Lehi made easy work of Desert Hills in a 35-0 win.
4. Timpview (1-1)
The Thunderbirds couldn't quite find the second-half magic again. After mounting a rally in the fourth quarter to top Skyridge to open the season, Timpview came up just short against Lone Peak, falling 31-24.
5. Bountiful (2-0)
Siaki Fekitoa scored on an 11-yard run in the fourth quarter to lift Bountiful to a 17-12 win over Farmington. The Redhawks have allowed just 21 points through two weeks of play.
6. Skyridge (1-1)
Kaneal Sweetwyne's 69-yard touchdown pass to Junior Coughlin was part of a 21-point second quarter as Skyridge topped Liberty (Nev.) 41-26.
Sweetwyne added two fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns to secure the Falcons' first win of the season.
7. Mountain Ridge (2-0)
With a dominant 58-0 win, Mountain Ridge handed Dixie its second-biggest loss in school history.
Quarterback Wyatt Bingham accounted for five touchdowns (three through the air, two on the ground) to lead a high-powered offense. Oh, and the Sentinels' defense was pretty OK, too, in the shutout win.
8. Brighton (2-0)
Mason Haertel had 174 yards rushing and two touchdowns as a dominant ground attack powered the Bengals to a 34-21 win over Syracuse.
Beau La Fleur's 42-yard touchdown run with under a minute left in the fourth quarter put the finishing touches on the victory.
9. Springville (2-0)
Easton Leavitt had a game to remember.
The senior QB threw for 305 yards and six touchdowns in Springville's 48-35 win over Bonneville. Max Harris added 160 yards on the ground for the Red Devils in the win.
10. Roy (2-0)
Robert Young was difficult to contain on Friday. You can say that about the rest of the Royals, too.
Young scored on a 53-yard touchdown run and a 97-yard kickoff return in Roy's 50-16 win over Fremont. Senior running back Logan Cella had 81 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
11. Orem (2-0)
The Tigers rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to beat American Fork 32-26.
Junior QB Tayden-Evan Kaawa threw for 396 yards and three touchdowns, and senior Feleti Iongi had 220 all-purpose yards and scored three touchdowns in the win. Orem scored 26 straight points to start the second half to stun the Caveman.
12. Weber (2-0)
Weber scored 24 unanswered points in the second half to run away with a 31-12 win over Pleasant Grove.
Tyson Higgs caught two touchdowns and Dyson Parker ran for two more in the win.
13. Bingham (1-1)
Bingham's Linkin Wilberger scored on a 20-yard interception return in the final minutes to secure a 17-7 win over Crimson Cliffs.
The Miners have been stout on defense this season — even in a Week 1 loss to Lone Peak — but have struggled to move the ball. That'll need to be remedied quickly with Lehi and Skyridge coming up over the next two weeks.
14. American Fork (0-2)
The Cavemen are still winless after two weeks, but that's more to do with their schedule.
American Fork opened with No. 1 Corner Canyon, and led entering the fourth quarter against a high-powered Orem team. Will this week be the week for a win? American Fork plays West on Friday — another highly-ranked preseason team still looking for its first victory.
15. Davis (1-1)
Quarterback Tradon Bessinger threw for seven touchdowns as the Darts routed Copper Hills 56-15.
Davis jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and had 49 points at halftime. Owen Talbot and Tyson Baggett each scored three touchdowns for the Darts.
16. Ridgeline (2-0)
The 4A favorites topped Riverton 28-21 in overtime.
Quarterback Nate Dahl found Hunter Knighton for a 10-yard touchdown in overtime to give Ridgeline a win over a 6A team. That was Knighton's second touchdown catch of the game.
The Riverhawks have started the season with two wins over teams in higher classifications.
17. Morgan (2-0)
Two games. Two blowouts.
Morgan followed up its thrashing of Crimson Cliffs in Week 1 with a 34-0 rout of Sky View.
Trojans quarterback Beck Sheffield threw three touchdowns and rushed for another in the win. As for the defense ... Morgan ended Sky View's 218 consecutive game scoring streak.
18. West (0-2)
The Panthers are still a mystery.
West has started the season by hanging tough in losses with top teams from Georgia and California. The Panthers will start playing against fellow Utah squads this week.
19. Olympus (1-1)
Luke Espersen threw three touchdowns as the Titans beat Provo 37-15.
20. Maple Mountain (2-0)
Quarterback Mason Jensen threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns to lead Maple Mountain to a 35-28 win over Spanish Fork.
Eli Mauga rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Plus-1: Beaver (2-0)
Beaver has started the season doing what Beaver always seems to do: win.
The defending 1A champs continued their hot start to the season by smashing Grantsville 35-0.
Gage Raddon rushed for two scores and collected an interception on defense. Junior running back Davin Orton rushed for 100 yards and a score.
Through two games, the Beavers' defense has yet to allow a score.
