SAINT QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES, France — Nelly Korda is trying to be golf's first back-to-back Olympic champion. Xander Schauffele missed on his opportunity at Le Golf National. He was coming off a British Open title. Korda is the favorite in the women's competition and can only hope she is trending in the right direction. The world's No. 1 player was unbeatable through four months when she ran off a record-tying five straight victories, and six wins in seven starts. But she missed the cut in two majors. Korda will be trying to give the Americans another sweep of the gold medals in golf after Scottie Scheffler won gold on Sunday.
