SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police are investigating a triple stabbing that happened Tuesday at a South Salt Lake TRAX station.
About 4:20 p.m., Utah Transit Authority officers responded to what they called an "isolated incident" at the Central Pointe TRAX platform, 221 W. 2100 South.
A juvenile male at the platform got into an argument with a man, and after two children related to the man got involved in the argument, the juvenile allegedly stabbed all three people, UTA Police Chief Dalan Taylor said.
Two of the three victims received serious wounds, and the third received just superficial injuries. All are expected to survive.
The juvenile fled the scene by jumping on the train and was arrested at the next stop in Millcreek, Taylor said. Police recovered the knife at the Central Pointe station.
There are no further TRAX delays, nor is there a public safety threat, UTA spokesman Mike Varanakis said. It is unknown what led to the initial argument.
