FORT WORTH, Texas — American gymnast Brody Malone's long road back from a serious leg injury is over. The 23-year-old is atop the leaderboard halfway through the U.S. Championships. Malone, a two-time national champion, severely injured his right leg in the spring of 2023. He needed three surgeries to recover and only recently began training for the all-around competition. He looked as strong as ever during the first night at nationals, posting a score of 85.950 that gave him a sizable lead heading into the finals.
