VEYO, Washington County — A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash early Tuesday in Snow Canyon State Park, according to Dammeron Valley Fire and Rescue.

Rescuers were dispatched at 2:06 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash just north of the Lava Flow Trailhead in the state park, Dammeron Valley Fire and Rescue said in a Facebook post.

The motorcyclist was taken by medical helicopter to St. George Regional Hospital in critical condition, according to the post, which did not provide further information about the motorcyclist. Deputies from Washington County are investigating the cause of the crash. Dammeron Valley is southeast of Veyo and northeast of Ivins in the county.

"DVFR would like to remind everyone of the importance of obeying posted speed limits and exercising caution when traveling at night," the post said. "As always we encourage all riders to wear helmets and to drive appropriate to the road conditions and traffic."
