ROY — In the span of two days, police say two men arrived at Roy City Park believing they were meeting up with a 13-year-old for sex, only to be arrested by undercover officers.

Miguel Jose Poche-Mogollon, 31, of Clearfield, began messaging a social media account depicting a 13-year-old girl, according to a police booking affidavit. Friday, he expressed the desire to meet and have sex with this girl, police said, and arranged to pick her up at Roy City Park in his vehicle. Roy police said they saw the car pull up, ran the license plate and arrested Poche-Mogollon without incident.

He was charged Monday in 2nd District Court with attempted rape of a child, two counts of sodomy on a child, first-degree felonies; and three counts of enticing a minor, a second-degree felony.

Two days later, officers received messages from Brady Rowland Linford, of Logan, who was also messaging a 13-year-old girl online, according to a separate police booking affidavit.

Police say Linford, 41, messaged the profile Monday and indicated he wanted to have sex with the underage girl and sent a number of naked photos before requesting the child send him sexual images of herself, the affidavit alleges. The same day he began messaging the girl, police say Linford arranged to meet her at Roy City Park, where he was allegedly going to pick her up and take her to an empty building in Clinton where he was working.

He showed up at the agreed-upon location around 9 p.m., where officers say he was taken into custody without incident.

Linford was charged in 2nd District Court Tuesday with attempted rape of a child, two counts of attempted sodomy on a child, first-degree felonies; two counts of enticing a minor, a second-degree felony; enticing a minor and three counts of dealing in materials harmful to minors, third-degree felonies.

Both men were booked into the Weber County Jail.
