A rapidly growing area of Washington City will be home to Solenté, an exclusive gated, master-planned, luxury community designed with an emphasis on sustainability and harmony with the natural environment.

In his Washington County Economic Summit address, word of the new housing community, Solenté, was made public. Washington City Mayor Kress Staheli referred to Solenté as one example of the highly valuable public-private partnerships taking place in the community.

Solenté is situated north of exit 13 on I-15 in Washington City. The neighborhood's proximity to the Green Springs area offers convenient access to services, yet is secluded among the red rock hills, providing the solitude and privacy expected of a high-end community.

GWC Capital and Blue Diamond Capital are developing Solenté on 570 acres of Utah Trust Lands. These are the same developers that brought Desert Color to southern Utah.

Even though they're from the same source, Solenté is different from Desert Color. While Desert Color provides something for everyone in a resort-oriented community setting, Solenté will be an exclusive, gated community focused on tailor-made, club experiences. The future of Solenté includes exclusive estate, community sports, resort residential properties, and a luxury resort hotel.

The community will encompass 2,200 residential units including custom estate homes, townhomes, condominiums, resort villas and casitas. Another unique feature of Solenté is the access to popular trailheads for hiking, biking and horseback riding that showcase the absolute best of high desert living.

The community's design, architecture, infrastructure, technology, and overall land plan conform with and help preserve the environment and natural surroundings and will promote a contemporary 21st-century healthy, active and sustainable lifestyle.

On November 28, 2023, representatives from GWC Capital, the Washington City Council, the Washington Area Chamber of Commerce and the St. George Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as state legislators and local realtors, gathered near the intersection of Main Street and the Washington Parkway for a groundbreaking ceremony.

As construction progresses, the existing Millcreek Trailhead, Dino Cliffs Trailhead and Grapevine Trailhead will be completely revamped to offer parking, water stations, bicycle repair tools and more. Preserving the trails while also enhancing public access has been a collaborative effort between GWC Capital, Washington City and the Utah Trust Lands Administration.

During construction, the trails will still be open for public use, but alternate access routes will be added as needed to ensure safe access for the public.
