BRAZIL — We've all seen the old pull-the-chair-away trick a million times. It's especially popular in elementary school but, like all classic pranks, it knows no age limit.
What makes it so powerful is its simplicity. The victim goes to sit down on a chair that they thought was in one place, but the prankster has subtly moved it somewhere else. In its most common form, the prankster simply pulls the chair back just enough to make the victim tumble. Injuries occur from time to time, but it's generally harmless.
The key ingredients for this prank are usually secrecy and speed. If the chair maneuver makes noise or takes too long, the intended victim will usually be alerted to the danger.
That's what makes this video so unique. The chair is moved slowly and calamitously, yet the victim never knew what hit him (until he collided with the floor, that is).
I guess the difference here was the age of the perpetrator. Who would ever suspect an innocent little child to pull such a cunning prank?
