EAGLE MOUNTAIN — A 10-year-old boy was hospitalized in serious condition Tuesday after being hit by a car in Utah County.

He was hit at Pony Express Parkway and Porter's Crossing in Eagle Mountain just after 2 p.m.

"The boy apparently fell or stumbled into the path of a car that was turning east onto Pony Express Parkway from northbound Porter's Crossing," according to the Utah County Sheriff's Office. He sustained "serious head trauma" and was flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

No other information was immediately available.
