ST. GEORGE — Residents of Apple Valley are now under a full burn-ban and officials said on Tuesday that the current water crisis can be expected to go on for at least a couple more weeks.

Burning for land clearing and yard debris is prohibited, according to a social media post by the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

Further, the town of Apple Valley posted on social media stating that no burn permits will be issued "until we have the available resources."

Apple Valley Fire Chief Michael Gross said in the post, "If anyone is found having an unauthorized burn, the Fire Marshall will be notified and citations will be issued."

Violations are punishable as a class C misdemeanor.

As covered in St. George News, residents in Apple Valley reported on Sept. 20 that there was no water flowing out of taps and that the 1 million-gallon tank serving the town was empty, leaving 170 homes dry.
